The Mika Hasler Competition benefits young artists up to age twenty-three.
The MHC is an organization created for the purpose of encouraging young talented aspiring musicians to grow artistically, to perfect their musical abilities, and to provide performing opportunities.
Young artists may compete by sending in a recorded CD or DVD to be judged by a panel of judges.
Afterwards, ten finalists will be heard on stage and again judged by a panel of judges.
The first and second place winners will receive monetary prizes; first place $5,000.00, second place $1,000.00. The two winners will be featured and promoted in an evening recital together at the Duncan Recital Hall at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
