The Mika Hasler Competition benefits young artists up to age twenty-three.
The MHC is an organization created for the purpose of encouraging young talented aspiring musicians to grow artistically, to perfect their musical abilities, and to provide performing opportunities.
Young artists may compete by sending in a recorded CD or DVD by the December 15th, 2016 to be judged by a panel of judges.
Ten finalists will be heard on stage on February 5th, 2017 and again judged by a panel of judges.
The first and second place winners will receive monetary prizes; first place $5,000.00, second place $1,000.00. The two winners will be featured and promoted in an evening recital together on March 19th, 2017 at the Duncan Recital Hall at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
